- Diploma of Interior Design
- Certificate IV in Interior Decoration
- Microcredentials
Diploma Entry Requirements
There are no academic entry requirements for this course if you are a full-fee paying student. You just need to be 17 years of age at the time of enrolment and have a passion for interior design. Within the application process we’ll ask you for a 300-word Design Ethos Statement that outlines your motivations for doing this course. You can view guidelines for this statement here. If you have already successfully completed a Certificate IV in Interior Decoration, you will not be required to submit this statement.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If you have completed relevant prior study, training and/or industry experience you may not need to enrol in the full duration of your program.
To gain Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) we need to assess evidence of previous learning, employment, industry activities and talents. The evidence must be authenticated (academic transcripts, subject outlines, references, awards), which we then compare to the subjects in the Diploma of Interior Design. If there is sufficient verifiable evidence you have attained all of the subject learning outcomes you may be granted Credit for a subject or Unit of Competency. We will recognise previous units of study and qualifications for current training packages and courses completed within the past 5 years. You apply for RPL during the application process for the program of your choice.
You can apply for Credit if you have previously studied similar units, already successfully completed the same or equivalent units with another Registered Training Organisation, or have strong work experience in a similar field as your preferred program. ISCD will recognise previous units of study and qualifications for current training packages and courses completed within the past 7 years.
