The Winner of the 2024 Dulux Student Design Competition

Students from the Diploma of Interior Design were invited to submit their works to our 2024 Dulux Student Design Competition, explaining which of the Dulux colours they would use to bring their interior design ideas to life.

This year, ISCD has presented its Diploma students with the chance to submit an entry to our 2024 Dulux Student Design Competition.

Students were required to present which of the Dulux colours they would use to bring their interior design ideas to life.

We are proud to announce the winner of this year’s competition as Juliette Beaumont from New South Wales, who is currently studying a Diploma of Interior Design with ISCD.

These entries were reviewed by the Dulux Colour and Communications Manager, Andrea Lucena-Orr, who had the challenging task of narrowing down the fantastic student submissions from this year. To see the full announcement video, visit our Instagram.

Andrea describes Juliet’s submission as

“A beautiful Federation style residential space, that showcases a fabulous colour palette. The beautiful imagery and mood boards really help the client to visualise the concepts”.

“The federation living room project was for my client Sarah Belfield who recently moved into a 1910 classic federation home. The living room is where Sarah has decided to start her renovation journey. I was asked to create and initiate a mood board + concept board + floorplan & elevation + rendered floorplan & rendered perspective along with a materials board. I was to take into consideration the era of the home and meet the restoration requirements of the brief and style.”

Students were required to select their favourite projects in either residential or commerical spaces, with an emphasis on colour.

Juliette’s project exemplifies a ‘natural home’ aesthetic, with sustainable furniture and nature-inspired decorative elements.

“Each room was to highlight sustainable “green” furniture and have a different style and feel”.

“My future goal is to secure a full-time job in Interior Design and eventually own my own business where I design residential homes. I thoroughly enjoy the client simulations I have executed as it allows me to express my creative ideas and unique skills. Working with Dulux colours have been tranquil and serene. I’m always including and visiting the Dulux website for all things paint and colour when it comes to client projects. I’m super excited for this competition and putting my work out there as I’m super proud and pleased with how far I’ve come on my design journey!”

Thank you to all who submitted an entry in the competition, and congratulations again to Juliette, who is taking home the incredible prize of a full Dulux Colour Atlas and Fandeck.
